Ashley & Spencer’s Steampunk Wedding – Dixon, IL

December 1st, 2014

Long time, no post! We couldn’t miss the chance to share Spencer & Ashley’s wedding with everyone.  Why?  Because it was uniquely awesome, that’s why.  Also, because the costumes were designed by Ashley and just look at how amazing they turned out!  And yes, I checked, Ashley & Spencer referred to them as costumes as […]

We couldn’t miss the chance to share Spencer & Ashley’s wedding with everyone.  Why?  Because it was uniquely awesome, that’s why.  Also, because the costumes were designed by Ashley and just look at how amazing they turned out!  And yes, I checked, Ashley & Spencer referred to them as costumes as well.  You can view their Etsy shop here:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/FASHDesign

Though impending rain forced the wedding into the tent, I have to say that the approaching storm clouds made very fitting backgrounds for their steampunk style wedding photos.  Since we couldn’t get actual locomotive steam, the moody billowing clouds and atmosphere worked out quite well.

Ashley’s family has been friends with us for a very long time, but not long enough. We really enjoyed photographing their wedding, so here’s some of our favorites.  🙂

Enjoy!

I like the below collage of the girls of the family being emotional, it was a very sweet ceremony.

Rachel and I were once again fortunate enough to have a loving and fun couple in Shahin and Eliza (or as they call themselves, Shaliza!)  Shaliza were married in Galena, one of our favorite towns in Illinois at the Eagle Ridge Resort.  They planned a weekend event for family and friends to spend time there and enjoy the historic and beautiful downtown.  Once in a while if Rachel and I see a great opportunity for a photo in the evening or nighttime, we’ll pull the couple out (after debating whether they’ll feel up yet one more portrait).  Thankfully, Eliza asked for a “star photo” before we even started the day and we were able to find this great location below.

Thanks so much for trusting us to capture your beautiful day, we were so honored to be a part of it!  Congratulations Shaliza!

Wow!  What a great way to start our wedding season this spring. 🙂 Kath & Ron were such a great couple that when I first met them I thought, “Oh they’re fun and down to earth.  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding!”  With Kath’s vintage wedding style and Ron’s gentle and fun spirit, we […]

Kath & Ron were such a great couple that when I first met them I thought, “Oh they’re fun and down to earth.  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding!”  With Kath’s vintage wedding style and Ron’s gentle and fun spirit, we had a great day photographing them at The Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park.  It was a great day, and I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.  Congrats you two!
