Jenna’s Senior Portraits – Winnebago and Rockford, IL

And, yes!  Another senior session I wanted to post from a little while back.

Some of my favorite senior photos of the year came out of this session, as Jenna was a great model and the light and locations this evening were beautiful.  Downtown Rockford really has some cute and colorful buildings now-a-days, which was great for a first stop.  Severson Dells was our last stop of the day, and the field and changing leaves (see bottom photo) plus an old rustic-looking chair I picked up at a garage sale just turned out gorgeous.  Thanks Jenna!!

We’re still catching up on blogging some photo sessions from earlier in the year, and I wanted to share this senior session with Joe in DeKalb.  It was hard to choose some favorites from this session, but I did want to share these.  Rachel and I like treating our seniors slightly like album covers sometimes, […]

About a week ago, Nicole and I had a lot of fun around Dixon for her senior photo session, and her dad even brought a car he’s restoring for the portraits!

I also loved the weather during this shoot because of the diffused light from the overcast clouds and the bluish tone they gave to the sky.  Congratulations on finishing up high school Nicole!

It seems we’re getting a reputation for putting our subjects into weeds and grass, but I just can’t but help love the prairie feel they give to the photos.  🙂

Okay, this last one needs a little bit of explaining… but I had to include it.

As we were out, Nicole saw one of her friends by Plum Hollow who had backed up her car on top of a post… and naturally, we decided that it would be a good backdrop for a senior portrait  :  )

Tom’s Senior Portraits, DeKalb, IL

May 12th, 2011

Last week was a fun senior portrait session with Tom in downtown DeKalb.  We made use of some of the colorful walls there and incorporated two of his interests, long-boarding and guitar. Here are some of my favorites from the session.  Enjoy! I love shooting portraits like the above one!
